We strongly recommend to carry your beacon in your lifejacket, preferably high up, attached to a strap within the lifejacket.
This serves several purposes; first you are maximising the range of your beacon, preventing false alarms. Second if you do fall overboard your beacon will float with you. This will make sure the homing signal can be received by your phone. In turn allowing for a easier recovery and rescue procedure.
Bluetooth signals have a very hard time traveling trough water so try to avoid any positions that will keep the beacon submerged on a MOB event.
Please be assured that the alarm will always go off regardless, we actually use the loss of signal as one of the alarm triggers.
